Doane College - Recreation and Athletic Center

The Clark Enersen Partners provided mechanical and electrical engineering and site planning/landscape architecture for the new George and Sally Haddix Athletic and Recreational Center at Doane College.

The center, which opened in Fall 2010, offers a state of the art strength-and-conditioning area on the first floor of the facility, and various types of cardio equipment and circuit weight training equipment on the second floor. The facility also offers an aerobics gym and classrooms. Designed for use by students, faculty and staff, as well as the broader Crete community, the fitness center serves many demographics and offers locker rooms and changing areas.

As the new home for Doane’s volleyball and basketball teams, the 63,535-square-foot facility also includes a performance gymnasium with 1,200 seats. Overlooking the floor is the new Richard and Wanda Gibson Hall of Fame Room. Other amenities include new locker rooms for the men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams, and office space for faculty and coaches.
