Nebraska Innovation Campus Streetscapes

In 2010, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln purchased the former Nebraska State Fairgrounds site to develop Nebraska Innovation Campus, a premier private/public research and technology development center.

The Clark Enersen Partners was part of a infrastructure master plan team charged with the vision and development of the entire campus. Our role was to provide planning, sustainable design, and streetscape design development of all the public streets and right-of-ways, including sidewalk, landscape design, lighting, site electrical, exterior signage, visual branding, and pedestrian amenities.

We also designed a logo for the campus, which was incorporated in signage and pavings at major intersections. Design of the logo and landscape architecture was inspired by Nebraska themes. We used native plantings as well as a brick pattern that will be used across campus as development continues. The campus was designed to be very well-lit, safe and pedestrian-friendly for night use.

In addition, The Clark Enersen Partners created the site development plan for the former Industrial Arts Building and Food Innovation Center complex.
