UNL North Stadium Expansion

UNL North Stadium Expansion

We led the design team for this project, which expanded Memorial Stadium by adding skybox, VIP seating and 6,460 additional seats. We renovated food service and concession areas, and created concourse connections to provide seamless access to the West, North, and East portions of the stadium. This project also included the Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex, Players Lounge, and the home for the UNL Athletic Department.

The Tom and Nancy Osborne Complex is a state-of-the-art training, sports medicine and locker room facility. It serves as a major recruiting tool for the football program. The first floor is devoted to athletic performance, with a weight room, water therapy, athletic medicine, football locker room and administrative offices. The second level features the coaches’ offices, support offices, auditorium and Players Lounge. The upper levels offer conference rooms, the Athletic Director’s office, administrative areas, and luxury suites.

Located on the second floor of the Tom and Nancy Osborne Complex, the Players Lounge provides football players with a private, relaxing environment to unwind, study or prepare for the next game. Its design emphasizes the traditions of Husker football. Amenities include a nutrition station, pool table, and video station where athletes can play games that simulate their own playbook. It has a large video screen for reviewing games and assessing opponents.

The project also included the Skybridge connecting the stadium with the Hawks Championship Center, and the Championship Plaza beneath the walkway.
