JCCC - Career & Technical Education Center

The Clark Enersen Partners, in association with another architect, was selected to provide programming, equipment planning, architectural, and mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering services for priority projects identified in Johnson County Community College’s 2016 Master Plan. These projects include two new buildings (Career and Technical Education, and Fine Arts and Design), renovation of the existing Arts & Technology Building, and renovation/expansion of the Welding Building.

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) new building is approximately 71,000 gross square feet and houses the following industrial technology programs:
  • Automotive technology
  • Electrical technology
  • Automation engineer technology/industrial maintenance
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
The new building created space for programs needed to develop workforce needs. The new CTE building provides state-of-the-art space for the automotive technology program. This includes a large high-bay area equipped with 18 vehicle lifts, in addition to individual transmission and engine overhaul laboratories. An exterior auto-yard is located adjacent to the high-bay work space for easy access to vehicles for maintenance and instructional activities. The Clark Enersen Partners provided programming, equipment planning, and mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering for this project. This facility was designed and constructed using sustainable practices and is currently awaiting confirmation of LEED Silver Certification.
