State Fair Community College Master Plan

State Fair Community College Master Plan

In 2015, The Clark Enersen Partners and Paulien & Associates completed a campus master plan for State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri. The master planning process involved space utilization and needs assessment for a growing campus population of approximately 2,400 students. The master plan builds on the goals and objectives established by the College in its strategic plan.

The process included an assessment of existing conditions including buildings, site, landscape, vehicular circulation, pedestrian circulation, and land use. Based on national design guidelines and benchmarking of similar campuses, State Fair Community College is expected to need approximately 130,000 additional gross square feet to meet future space needs on campus.

The primary goals of the master plan were to address program growth and create a positive campus atmosphere for student recruitment, retention, and engagement. In order to accomplish this, the master plan recommends showcasing signature programs by creating a new Technology Center, and enhancing student life by creating new housing and a student center around a new quad with a pone. The result is a campus that reinforces a strong campus brand, State Fair College’s relevance, accessibility, and commitment to student life.
