Johnson County Community College, Fine Arts and Design Studios

Clark & Enersen, in association with another architect, was selected to provide programming, equipment planning, architectural, and mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering services for priority projects identified in Johnson County Community College’s 2016 Master Plan. These projects include two new buildings (Career and Technical Education, and Fine Arts and Design), renovation of the existing Arts & Technology Building, and renovation/expansion of the Welding Building.

A goal of the facilities master plan was to reinforce campus neighborhoods by promoting adjacencies. To help reach this goal, our team designed the new Fine Arts and Design Building. The building contains the arts programs that were formally housed in the Arts & Technology building, along with filmmaking and graphic design. The programs that relocated from ATB to FADS include sculpture, metalsmithing, ceramics, painting, and drawing.

We also provided programming, equipment planning, and mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering for this building. Construction of the FADS building was completed in 2018.
