University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Hendricks Training Complex

We led the design team for the Hendricks Training Complex, a major addition to the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Goals of the new training complex were to enhance recruiting with state-of-the-art facilities for basketball and wrestling and provide improved amenities for all sports that utilize Devaney. Features include:

  • A grand lobby with granite fountain and artwork to provide an impressive recruiting path for athletes.
  • A state-of-the-art basketball practice facility, with full courts and half courts, and associated team meeting areas and offices.
  • New locker rooms for the women’s and men’s basketball programs.
  • An innovative wrestling practice facility, accommodating three competition-sized mats and team offices.
  • Strength and conditioning area tripling the size of the previous Devaney Center space.
  • Nutrition station with kitchen amenities and lounge space.

The project also included 10,000 square feet of renovated space inside the center. Major features include:

  • A renovated Athletic Medicine area with an exam room, treatment area, hot and cold hydrotherapy, staff stations, showers, restrooms, and storage.
  • Renovations to the women’s swimming locker room and team lounge.
