University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior

Clark & Enersen provided complete design services for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s (UNL) Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior (CB3) located in the southern half of the Memorial Stadium East Expansion. It occupies portions of the first, second, and third floors. Due to the close proximity, CB3 scientists often collaborate with the University of Nebraska Athletic Department on concussion research and other studies.

The interdisciplinary facility brings together distinguished faculty from the University’s Political Science, Psychology, and Children, Youth, and Family Studies departments as well as dozens of other Nebraska scientists. The CB3 covers various aspects of social, biological, and behavioral sciences and engineering, and researchers use the latest technology to study such conditions as autism, Down syndrome, and Alzheimer’s disease.

The center also has the ability to capture functional magnetic resonance imaging, record brain activity, and track eye movement simultaneously. This combination of brain imaging and cognitive assessment equipment could provide groundbreaking findings about brain function’s influence on behavior and performance.

Other features of the Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior center include:

  • 46 laboratories that support various disciplines.
  • Open laboratory spaces and meeting rooms that encourage collaboration.
  • Faculty offices.
  • Conference center.
